Mara

her face would not have held
the secrets of the world
without the eyes
she was a waitress and a
goddess.

I remember talking to Scotty.
I said you work with a woman.
I said her eyes are like
(a bunch of colorful and romantic
adjectives).
I said they're like
(creative, poetic
metaphors).
he said, "That must be Mara".
tell her I love her,
I said.

things are getting better,
to where I can compliment someone
without feeling like I've cut myself.
